Abstract

This article discusses the important role of Islamic Religious Education in fostering religious character in elementary school students. The discussion covers two main aspects, namely the inculcation of Islamic religious values as the foundation of religious character and the integration of Islamic Religious Education in the elementary school curriculum. The inculcation of Islamic religious values has a crucial role in shaping the character of students who are devout in worship, honest, tolerant and empathetic. Values such as compassion, helping and respecting fellow human beings are at the heart of fostering religious character. This article also reveals the importance of integrating Islamic Religious Education into the elementary school curriculum as an effort to improve comprehensive understanding and appreciation of Islam. The research method used in this article is a literature review method. The integration of Islamic Religious Education subjects into the curriculum provides opportunities for students to gain knowledge, understanding, and practical experience related to Islamic religious teachings. Elementary school students can grow to become individuals who have noble character, have noble character, and are highly committed to carrying out the teachings of Islam in their daily lives.
