KEWIRAUSAHAAN SOSIAL SYARIAH: USAHA BERBASIS NILAI SOSIAL (ZAKAT DAN WAKAF PRODUKTIF)
Abstract
Sharia social entrepreneurship is an emerging concept that combines Islamic ethical principles with the goal of achieving socio-economic empowerment through value-based enterprises. This study aims to explore how zakat and productive waqf are utilized in developing social entrepreneurship in Indonesia. Using a qualitative research approach, in-depth interviews were conducted with stakeholders including Islamic economists, practitioners of zakat and waqf institutions, and sharia micro-entrepreneurs. The study reveals that zakat and productive waqf serve not only as financial instruments but also as mechanisms for social transformation rooted in the values of justice, solidarity, and empowerment. Several challenges are identified, such as institutional fragmentation, lack of entrepreneurial capacity among beneficiaries, and limited public understanding of productive waqf schemes. Nevertheless, best practices indicate that integrated models involving education, capital, and mentoring can maximize the impact of Islamic social finance. The study concludes that a sustainable ecosystem for sharia social entrepreneurship requires multi-stakeholder collaboration, regulatory support, and continuous capacity building, ensuring alignment with the maqashid sharia framework.
