Abstract

This study aims to explore the contribution of Al-Qur'an Education Institutions (TPQ) in strengthening religious education for children at the Baitul Qur'an Learning Center in North Binjai. TPQ plays a vital role in building children's religious character through systematic teaching of Qur’anic reading, memorization, and understanding of Islamic values from an early age. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and parents, and documentation of TPQ activities. The findings reveal that TPQ Baitul Qur’an serves not only as a place for learning to read the Qur’an but also as a center for nurturing moral values, discipline, and spiritual awareness in children. Structured programs such as daily recitation, Islamic storytelling, and group prayers have a significant impact on enhancing the religious knowledge and behavior of students. Moreover, the support and involvement of parents, as well as the dedication of the teaching staff, contribute positively to the learning outcomes. Therefore, TPQs play a strategic role as complementary institutions to formal education in cultivating a generation that is not only intellectually capable but also spiritually grounded.
