ISIM NAKIRAH DAN ISIM MA‘RIFAH SEBAGAI UNSUR PENENTU MAKNA DALAM BAHASA ARAB
Abstract
Isim is one of the main elements in the structure of the Arabic language that plays an important role in the formation of meaning. In the study of grammar, isim is divided into two main categories, namely isim nakirah and isim ma'rifah. The differences between these two types of isim are not only grammatical, but also have significant semantic and pragmatic implications in determining the meaning of an utterance or text. This article aims to examine the role of isim nakirah and isim ma'rifah as elements that determine meaning in Arabic from the perspective of classical grammar, modern Arabic linguistics, and their implications in Arabic language learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. The results of the study indicate that the use of isim nakirah and isim ma'rifah influences the clarity of reference, the specificity of meaning, information structure, and discourse strategies in Arabic.
