TES STANDAR DAN TES NON STANDAR
Abstract
Standardized and non-standardized tests are essential instruments in educational assessment, serving different purposes in measuring students’ learning outcomes, abilities, and competencies. Standardized tests are developed through systematic procedures, validated empirically, and administered under uniform conditions to ensure reliability and comparability of results. In contrast, non-standardized tests are typically designed by teachers or institutions to meet specific instructional objectives and contextual needs. This article aims to examine the concepts of standardized and non-standardized tests, their differences, functions, characteristics, and practical examples in educational settings. Using a qualitative literature-based approach, this study analyzes various theories and research findings related to educational measurement and evaluation. The results indicate that standardized tests are more suitable for large-scale evaluation and decision-making, while non-standardized tests are more flexible and effective for classroom-level assessment. Understanding the strengths and limitations of both types of tests is crucial for educators in selecting appropriate assessment tools to support meaningful learning and accurate evaluation.
