STRATEGI MANAJEMEN PENDIDIKAN ISLAM DALAM MENJAWAB TANTANGAN MODERNITAS DI TADIKA PERPADUAN PULAU PINANG MALAYSIA
Abstract
Islamic education in the modern era faces various complex challenges such as globalization, technological advancement, secularization, social pluralism, and the demands of 21st-century competencies. However, on the other hand, modernity also provides opportunities for Islamic education to adapt and innovate through the integration of religious and general knowledge. This study aims to analyze the management strategies of Islamic education in responding to the challenges of modernity in Malaysia, with a particular focus on educational practices at Tadika Perpaduan Batu Lancang, Penang. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing observation and interview techniques during the implementation of the International Community Service (KPM) and Field Experience Program (PPL) by students from STIT Al Washliyah Aceh Tengah in Malaysia. The findings reveal that Islamic education in Malaysia is not exclusive or resistant to modernity; instead, it integrates Islamic values within an adaptive educational management framework that aligns with contemporary developments. Institutions such as Tadika Perpaduan Batu Lancang apply management approaches that combine spiritual, social, and technological aspects in the learning process while simultaneously strengthening students’ moral and character values. The implementation of this strategy aligns with Malaysia’s national education policy, which positions Islamic education as the foundation of national character building through programs such as J-QAF. Overall, the management strategies of Islamic education in Malaysia demonstrate success in maintaining a balance between religious values and the demands of modernity, serving as a model for the development of Islamic education in the global era.
