ANALISIS PEMBELAJARAN AT-TAHIYYAT WA AL-TA’ARUF (SAPAAN & PERKENALAN) DI MADRASAH ALIYAH

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the Arabic language learning process, specifically on the material At-Tahiyyat wa al-Ta’aruf (Greetings and Introductions), which serves as the fundamental basis for beginner speakers. Through a qualitative descriptive approach, this article comprehensively reviews how tenth-grade Madrasah Aliyah students understand the structure of descriptive texts and the rules of word classification (aqsam al-kalimah). The primary focus of this research is to examine the extent to which self-introduction materials can facilitate students in identifying their own and others' identities using proper Arabic. The results indicate that the integration of intensive mufrodat (vocabulary) mastery with direct speech acts, such as classroom dialogues, significantly enhances students' confidence in communication. Furthermore, students' involvement in analyzing the narrative text of the character Muhammad provides a realistic depiction of language use in everyday situations. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that the use of narrative text media relevant to students' lives is highly effective in helping them understand the basic concepts of Arabic grammar namely isim (nouns), fi’il (verbs), and harf (particles) contextually without feeling burdened by rigid theories. This learning approach is expected to serve as a reference for creating an active, communicative, and enjoyable classroom atmosphere for students learning a foreign language.
