ANALISIS KOMUNIKASI POLITIK DALAM KRISIS KEMANUSIAAN: PERSPEKTIF ETIKA KEPEMIMPINAN ISLAM

Abstract

Humanitarian crises caused by natural disasters require the state to provide honest, empathetic, and responsible political communication. However, in practice, statements by government officials often demonstrate a lack of coordination and consistency between officials and even contradict the conditions of victims on the ground. This situation gives rise to a triangular conflict between disaster victims, the government, and government supporters. The most frequently debated issues are claims of the government's ability or success in handling disasters, the adequacy of aid, and the stability of the situation on the ground. This study aims to analyze the state's political communication patterns in humanitarian crises and evaluate them through the perspectives of political communication and Islamic leadership ethics. The method used is a library study by reviewing literature on political communication, crisis communication, political ethics, and Islamic teachings that discuss leadership and the responsibility of rulers to their people. Several examples of statements by public officials taken from the mass media are also included as contextual illustrations. The results show that the state's political communication in disaster situations tends to be defensive, image-oriented, and ignores transparency and empathy. From an Islamic perspective, these practices contradict the values ​​of siddiq (honesty), amana (trustworthiness), and mas'uliyah (property), which are the foundations of leadership. In Islam, leaders are placed primarily responsible for the safety and well-being of their people by conveying accurate information and siding with the victims. In conclusion, the failure of state political communication has resulted in a decline in public trust and reflects a violation of leadership ethics.
